The other possibility is that On1 performance, as a result of it being so GPU-dependent, will suffer (versus more CPU-dependent software) on systems that don't have a sufficiently powerful GPU. Once he changed this setting in the NVidia control panel, he mentioned he had significant speed improvements. If you have a similar issue, akjos noticed a per-application setting in his Nvidia control panel was forcing On1 to use his laptop's slower integrated GPU instead of the faster Nvidia 770 GTX that was also available. The other user in that thread, akjos, complained that something as simple as applying a preset/filter was taking a long time. Its raw development tools work similarly to Lightroom Classic, it has an advanced layers-based editor that. The gist is that On1 is heavily dependent on your GPU. On1 Photo Raw is probably the closest package you'll find to Adobe's Photographer Plan. Basically, Iridient Developer, which has been around for a while is a fully featured raw conversion and editing application. I will set that back to zero and see if that makes a change. If you're interested in diagnosing your speed issue, this post may help: IRIDIENT DEVELOPER VS CAPTURE ONE HOW TO I’m posting this in case other people have had the problem. I wasn't really impressed about the type of presets for my personal application. It gives advanced photographers full control over their digital photos yet still provides easy drag-and-drop batch conversion and access to basic settings for the casual user. I'm really not sure if it was a setting thing, but first impression it was kind of disappointing speed wise. The Iridient developer supports RAW files from more than 400 digital camera models. I downloaded the trial and tried ON1 a few days ago and I thought it was very slow, slower than LR.
